I can happily report a few items this post.

Firstly, our Lachy is back. It has only happened in the last week but his breathing seems to have quietened (comparatively to post RSV Lachy not compared to “normal”) and he is smiling, vocal and moving himself around on his back around the lounge room.

Secondly, Lachy has a loyal companion named Disco. Disco is a cavoodle and has had an immediate delightful impact on Lachy and his brothers. Yes, it was decided that what this family needed was another boy!! But apart from that it seems he was born to be part of our family. Tonight Lachy was laying on the floor on one side of the lounge room and, quite quickly, turned himself around so that the top of his head was pointed at Disco and dug his heels in and pushed several times in order to make himself all the way over to him. He was rewarded with lots of kisses for his trouble and was an excited receiver. Disco does like to kiss Lachy by licking inside Lachy’s mouth which we obviously stop but he can do no wrong as far as Lachy is concerned and he giggles at the sensation.

Lastly, Lachy started a kindy program this week. I take him (and leave him!!) two mornings a week. He cries when I leave (as I do) but apparently I wouldn’t even make it to the car before he is happily participating. He loves the singing the best. Fortunately I am very comfortable leaving Lachy because I am friends with his teacher and am very fond of his helper who has been with Lachy at playgroup for a year now so she knows him very well. Lachy, more importantly, is also more than comfortable in their company. He smiles, vocalises and bats his eyelids into the hearts of not only the adults but his peers. To see Lachy in a classroom with his own friends is really beautiful. Yet another encounter I didn’t fully appreciate with Hayden & Tyson because I took it for granted. It’s these moments that help to mend your sometimes aching heart because you see Lachy in the complete opposite circumstance to suffering.

I just wanted to say a very special thank you to Clare and Kirsty. There are many things I want to thank you two for and I’m sure this won’t be the last time I mention you in my appreciation shout outs but both of you read my blog and have given me the confidence with your words to continue to write mine.

Side note – I have lots of photos that I can’t wait to share with you all. Including a visual of “Secondly” above but I am having some technical issues that I am endeavouring to rectify?
